Leadership Employee Collaboration

Objective: To open lines of communication and focus the organization on common goals to provide the highest level of service.

Audience: Combination emergency services organizations facing the challenges of service delivery using a combination of volunteer, part-time, and paid personnel.

Deliverables:

  • SWOT Analysis:
    • Facilitated session with departmental personnel
    • Facilitated goal-setting
    • Written summary with goals provided post-session (48 hours)
  • Team Building
    • Utilizing information contained in the Behavioral Reports
    • Communication exercises utilizing information contained in the Behavioral Report
  • Workbook
    • Customized workbook for each participant per location
    • Post-session exercises included
    • Customized "Collaboration Toolbox"

Schedule:

2-Day Agenda for the Onsite Leadership Clinic

Day One: (Friday)

  • Visiting VCOS LEC participants and team building coach meet with department key leadership personnel one on one to gain an understanding of challenges facing the organization.
  • Visiting VCOS LEC participants and team building coach meet with political body and citizens to identify opportunities that exist for the department to maximize services to the community.
  • Evening dinner (at a fire station) with department membership (paid and volunteer) followed by a guided strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) discussion with members of the department.

Day Two: (Saturday)

  • Team building coach meets with key leadership team as a group designed to increase understanding and communication skills of the leadership group (morning).
  • Visiting VCOS LEC participants and team building coach work with key leadership team to help develop goals based on the previous evenings SWOT discussion with department members. This session is designed to incorporate and apply the behavioral dynamics from the morning session.
  • Key leadership team agrees on at least five achievable goals to complete in one year and reassessment of the critical issues necessary for leadership to address to have a successful organization.
