IAFC Supports USFA's Install. Inspect. Protect. Campaign
More than 3,000 people die in home fires each year in the United States, and most are in homes without a working smoke detector. To prevent these deaths, the USFA is sponsoring a nationwide Install. Inspect. Protect. Campaign designed to raise awareness about how working, properly installed smoke detectors can lower a person's chances of dying in a fire. IAFC Approves Position on Eliminating Unwanted and Nuisance Fire Alarm Activations
The IAFC adopted a position giving direction to the fire service and the alarms industry on ways to combat the pervasive problem of unwanted and nuisance fire alarm activations.
